Until 200 years ago, Kathmandu was Nepal [for many hill people it still is]. As capital city, Kathmandu is the focus of political power, and industrial and financial activities fuel a building boom. INF has a Kathmandu Liaison Office, and helps run the Kathmandu International Study Centre for secondary and high school pupils. INF personnel provide training in laboratory work, pharmacy, hospital maintenance, physiotherapy and anæsthesia.
