work locations				is the centre of Mugu District in Nepal’s mountainous Karnali Zone. Strung out along an open-topped ridge is an unlikely assortment of government offices and schools, often staffed by Nepalis from other districts far away. Gamgadhi is two hours’ walk away from Talcha-Rara airstrip. The nearest road is seven days’ walk away. The INF Mugu Programme is based in Gamgadhi, though much of the administrative work is done in Nepalgunj. The programme provides community health and development assistance, training for health staff and volunteers, dental and mother and child health clinics and health education.
