is the gateway to Nepal’s most popular trekking trails. It
is a fast-growing city of around 200,000 people. The population is expected
to double within the next twenty years. Much of the money fuelling development
in the city is contributed by Nepalis living abroad in Hong Kong, South
Korea and the Middle East. Pokhara is the base for INF’s international headquarters and for INF’s RELEASE project, which includes Green Pastures Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre, the AIDS Leprosy Programme and the Partnership For Rehabilitation. INF also provides support to Pokhara’s Western Regional Hospital. |
