Both the Banke and Bardiya Districts in Nepal’s Mid Western Region have been badly affected by floods. It has been reported that water levels in the two districts are now beginning to go down, however hundreds of Nepali families have been forced to relocate to higher ground. Reconnaissance flights took place over some of the affected areas on Saturday, and the United Nations and other agencies are considering how best to respond to the situation. INF has a health and development programme in Banke, based in the district centre Nepalgunj.
