Dal Bahadur, 41, sacrificed chickens and goats in the belief that these traditional remedies would cure his leprosy. However, it was only after a friend brought him to the INF leprosy centre in Surkhet that his condition began to improve. As well as receiving treatment for his leprosy, Dal has learned to read and write while in the INF centre, and has had self-care training. Dal now understands more about leprosy and wants to pass on what he has learned to other people in his community in Nepal’s Dailekh District.
