Chakra Bahadur BK, 24, is a leprosy patient who has been trained in self-care at INF’s leprosy referral centre in Nepal’s Surkhet District. As well as learning all about leprosy, Chakra has now also had INF’s general health training in hygiene, nutrition, family planning, HIV / AIDS, TB etc. ‘Two years ago my brother died because of diarrhoea,’ says Chakra. ‘Now that I’ve had this training, I intend to pass on my knowledge in my village and community.’ Please click here if you would like to help people like Chakra.
