INF hospital turns 50

Yesterday was the third and final day of celebrations to mark the 50th birthday of INF’s Green Pastures Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre for people with disabilities in Pokhara. On 1 December there was a celebration for local churches; on 3 December [the birthday] there was a formal celebration, attended by Nepal’s Health Minister Shashi Shrestha; and yesterday there was a celebration for Green Pastures’ staff. Taking its name from the 23rd Psalm, Green Pastures was founded by English nurses Eileen Lodge and Betty Bailey as a leprosy hospital in 1957.
