Representatives of donor organisation Family Health International [FHI] have visited INF’s HIV / AIDS programme ‘Paluwa’, based in Nepal’s second-biggest city Pokhara. FHI currently donates approximately 40% of the funds needed by Paluwa, which provides support for HIV-positive people, awareness raising, voluntary counselling and testing, basic clinical and palliative care, and socio-economic assistance for HIV-positive people and their families. HIV / AIDS is a growing threat to public health in Nepal. FHI has presented Paluwa with an international ‘Information Education Communication’ award for publicity materials produced by INF’s Communications Department.
