Award-winning author and former INF Member Naomi Reed will be the main speaker at a celebration of 'Women in Nepal' to mark International Women's Day. INF Australia is holding the two-hour event at Saint Paul's Anglican Church in West Chatswood, Sydney on Friday 11 March from 10am. Brunch will be served, and entry costs $15 - men are also welcome! Places are limited, and can be reserved by e-mailing INF Australia at ausoffice@inf.org.au or by calling [02] 9411 1195.

The 101st International Women's Day is on 8 March. INF Australia's Phil Morris says: 'Nepal is a tough place to be a woman. Many women are expected to work in the home and in the fields, they often have low social status and are educated less than men, their health needs often go unmet and many women die during child birth. INF has always focused on those who are marginalised and cannot defend their rights, and that often means women. I have been privileged to visit women's self-help groups facilitated by INF in Nepal's remote Jumla District, and met women who were taking greater control of their lives and helping to educate their communities. A quote I heard there was: 'INF has taught us how to think'.'
