A New Year for Nepal?
31 Dec 08
Tomorrow may be the first day of 2009 for most of the rest of the world, but in the traditional Nepali calendar it is the year 2065.
The first day of the Nepali new year 2066 will fall on 14 April 2009.
In 2009 many Nepali people are hoping for improvements in the national situation.
The country faces many difficult economic challenges.
Many parts of Nepal are now suffering from daily 12-hour power cuts, and many businesses are having to reduce their output as a result of the electricity shortage.
