INF gynæcology and ear / dental camps in Nepal's Gorkha District treated a total of 2,097 people last month. The INF gynæcology camp took place at the Aruchundraute Primary Health Centre in Arughat from 1 to 14 May and treated 1,010 women, of whom 111 had operations and 67 had ultrasound investigations. A baby boy was safely delivered during the camp. The ear / dental camp took place at the same location from 18 to 25 May. There were 789 ear patients, of whom 92 had operations, 383 had audiograms and 109 had hearing aids fitted. There were also 298 dental patients, and 579 extractions and 91 fillings were carried out. Volunteer medical personnel travelled to Nepal from countries including the UK, Australia and New Zealand especially to take part in the camps, joining up with expatriate health workers serving with INF in Nepal and also the Nepali members of INF's medical camps team, who are normally based in Pokhara. After hearing publicity about the camps clients attended not only from Gorkha but also from Nepal's capital Kathmandu and the Dhading, Tanahun, Kailali, Kaski and Rukum Districts.
