Children at the camp

Fifteen children with cerebral palsy and other developmental problems have attended a ten-day camp at INF's Green Pastures Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre for people with disabilities in Pokhara. The camp finished last week and was led by INF's Khadga Gurung and the Green Pastures team of physiotherapy and occupational therapy staff. Other participants in the camp were: INF's Partnership For Rehabilitation programme; speech and language therapy staff from Pokhara's Western Regional Hospital; the 'Saathi Sansar' [Friend World] school for children with cerebral palsy in Pokhara; and the Pokhara-based non-government organisation Community Based Rehabilitation Services. INF physiotherapist Vicky Leonard took part in the camp and says: 'It was great for the mothers of the children to have an opportunity to meet each other and discover that there are others facing the same challenges. The children who attended the camp will be allocated to service providers who will continue to work with them in the future. The children were provided with special equipment such as wheelchairs, seats and toilet seats.'
