Dhanjit Pariyar, aged 32, is a tailor from Jauldhara village in Nepal's remote, mountainous Mugu District. He and his wife have two sons and two daughters. After Dhanjit was diagnosed with leprosy his neighbours would no longer associate with him or his family, as they were afraid of contracting leprosy too. After he visited INF's clinic in the neighbouring Jumla District, Dhanjit was referred to INF's leprosy centre in Surkhet, where he had special treatment. 'His condition has improved a lot and he is very happy,' says INF's Hema Chaudhary. 'In Surkhet INF also gave him two weeks of training in self-care, so that he learned how to avoid further disability to his eyes, hands and feet. Dhanjit was very grateful to INF.'
