Unable to move her left arm freely, 33-year-old Nanda Kumari Gharti from Rolpa District came to INF's clinic in Ghorahi for help.
Nanda Kumari had paid for treatment by traditional healers, but without success, and had been referred to INF by her local health post. She had visible deformity, paralysis of her left arm and inability to move it from the shoulder joint to the hand. The problem began after a fever.
INF referred her to Nepalgunj Medical College for a scan and special medication. INF then began daily physiotherapy with her, and she regained some movement in the joints of the arm. Her husband helped with her physiotherapy exercises, and she made further progress. After a month and a half of physiotherapy she recovered completely.
'INF made my arm well and now I can perform all kinds of movement,' says Nanda Kumari. 'I'm very happy indeed and would like to thank all the staff involved in my treatment. Without their care I would not have recovered.'
