Three 'back-to-back' INF medical camps in Nepal's Bajura District have provided treatment for 3,099 people.

The three camps finished last week, all were carried out at the health post in Tante. The first camp was for ear patients, treating 1,058 people, performing 150 operations, carrying out 390 hearing tests and providing 121 hearing aids.

The second camp, for gynæcology patients, treated 955 women and carried out 90 operations.

The third camp, a general surgical camp, ran from 28 November until 6 December and attracted clients from five different districts. The INF team treated 1,086 people and performed 144 operations in the delivery room at the health post, using three operating tables simultaneously. Post-operative care was provided in tented areas.

INF's eight-member Nepali camps team for the general surgical camp was joined by volunteers from five countries, including: six medical personnel from New Zealand; four from the UK; one from Australia; one from Germany; and one from Nepal, a surgeon from Pokhara. The team was led by Nepali Camps Administrator Eka Dev Devkota and INF nurse Ellen Findlay from Scotland.
