Sita’s paragliding first
03 May 08
Sita KC, 28, last week became the first Nepali person with disabilities to go paragliding.
Sita, who is paraplegic, works as the peer counsellor at INF’s Green Pastures Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre for people with disabilities in Pokhara.
She went on a tandem 50-minute flight on Monday with an instructor in Pokhara.
‘The doctors and staff at Green Pastures encouraged me to give wings to my dream,’ says Sita.
‘Positive thinking has the power to elevate a person above her or his disability,’ adds Green Pastures' new Superintendent Sandra Boone.
