World AIDS Day
01 Dec 08
Today is the 20th annual World AIDS Day.
Each year World AIDS Day is marked around the world to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS.
Based in Pokhara, INF’s ‘Paluwa’ programme provides care and support for Nepali people living with HIV/AIDS.
Together with partner organisations, Paluwa [meaning ‘New life’] raises awareness of HIV/AIDS among groups of people who are at high risk of contracting HIV, and among local communities.
Paluwa also provides voluntary counselling, testing, basic clinical and palliative care, and socio-economic assistance for HIV+ people.
