World Leprosy Day
25 Jan 09
Today is the 56th annual World Leprosy Day, which is marked each year to raise awareness of the disease which is estimated to affect four million people worldwide.
INF has served Nepali people with leprosy since the 1950s.
Staff at INF’s Green Pastures Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre in Pokhara today published an article about leprosy in a local newspaper and did a programme about leprosy on a local radio station, while clients with leprosy and other disabling conditions took part in a special programme of events to mark the day.
