World TB Day
24 Mar 08
March 24th is the annual World TB Day, which is held to mark the date in 1882 when Dr Robert Koch presented his discovery of the tuberculosis bacillus.
Promoted each year by the United Nations World Health Organization [WHO], World TB Day showcases many different events around the world which raise awareness of tuberculosis.
TB is a major threat to public health in Nepal, and INF serves many people affected by TB each year.
INF’s main TB centre is in Nepalgunj, a rapidly growing town near the border with India.
