INF North America Director Mark Kiser and his wife Lori have been highly commended by refugee services in Nebraska for their service to Nepali people.
Since October 2008 Mark and Lori have helped more than 20 Nepali refugee families from Bhutan to settle in Omaha, Nebraska. Mark and Lori formerly worked with INF in Nepal for two years, and so have been able to give basic training in Nepali culture for the staff of the Lutheran Refugee Services in Nebraska. In addition, Mark and Lori have personally facilitated the furnishing and set-up of 13 homes for Nepali families. The Kisers' commitment has not gone unnoticed by the local Nepali community. Kumar Gurung, President of the Bhutanese Community in Nebraska, says: 'Mark and Lori speak fluent Nepali and really care for the Nepali-speaking Bhutanese. They receive new families at the airport and try to help with all difficulties. They give time and energy, household materials, clothing, guidance, advice and help with the culture, customs and system of America. Truly, God lives in the hearts of Mark and Lori. We salute them.'
