A team of nine staff from the four-star de luxe Sofitel hotel at the UK's Gatwick Airport has raised funds to buy five wheelchairs for INF's Green Pastures Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre for people with disabilities in Pokhara. Earlier this month the team made a nine-day visit to Nepal, during which they toured Green Pastures and even tested the wheelchairs on the hazards and challenges of the INF 'wheelchair test track' circuit. On their 'staff outing with a difference', the self-financed team successfully managed to combine team-building and adventure travel with an exercise in corporate social responsibility. The team raised funds from individual and corporate donors including Arora Hotels Ltd and the Sofitel and Mercure hotels at Gatwick Airport. Green Pastures Superintendent Dr Paul Roche says: 'This generous donation will change five people's lives considerably, and facilitate the rehabilitation of those five people.' Matthew Lindenfelser, the team's tour organiser, adds: 'It was humbling and rewarding to make the journey at Christmas time, when caring for other people and sharing with others are so much on our minds.'

Wheelchairs are just one of the 34 gifts in the INF gift catalogue - please click here if you would like to browse the catalogue online.
