Green Pastures Hospital

For almost 60 years, Green Pastures Hospital [GPH] in Pokhara has been providing treatment and care for people living with leprosy.
After nearly six decades of service to the most poor and marginalised of Nepal, GPH is in major need of restoration and renovation to enable it to continue to provide first class care.

To address this, Phase 1 of the Long Term Plan for GPH’s expansion is underway. To find out more about Phase 1 and the Long Term Plan and how you can be involved, click here.

The work at GPH also includes treatment and rehabilitation for people living with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities and extends to reconstructive surgery, palliative care and specialist ear care.

Annually, GPH serves about 11,000 patients and remains the biggest leprosy and rehabilitation hospital in Nepal’s Western Regions. Having 40 beds [20 for leprosy patients and 20 for patients with other forms of disability] it remains the hub for referrals from other INF centres, as well as hospitals and local partner organisations across western Nepal.

Since its doors opened in 1957, GPH has provided treatment and relief to thousands, earning it a reputation of delivering high standard care to the poorest and most marginalised people of Nepal.
