Although in 2010 Nepal’s Ministry of Health announced that leprosy had reached record lows, it continues to be a significant issue for the most poor.

For people such as 15 year-old Pradip, living with leprosy was a daily struggle with recurring ulcers and a resulting leg deformity. He found out about INF and Green Pastures Hospital [GPH] and their treatment and rehabilitation work for people affected by leprosy. In September 2015, Pradip arrived at GPH full of hope. With ongoing care and treatment, his leg is recovering and he is happy.

“My leg would have been amputated if I hadn’t been to this hospital.”
Pradip is grateful to all the staff that cared for him during this difficult time and is looking forward to continuing his studies.

“If I hadn’t come to this hospital I would have become weaker and died”, says Pradip.

Since its beginnings in 1952, INF has been working to eradicate leprosy and rehabilitate those affected by the disease.

In 2011, the Nepal Government formally recognised INF’s significant contributions to combatting leprosy. Just like Pradip, thousands of people affected by leprosy have been able to receive healing and hope.
