INF has a number of exciting opportunities for qualified Palliative Care personnel to join our multidisciplinary team based at Green Pastures Hospital [GPH] in Pokhara at a time of rapid clinical expansion.

As part of the three-year Sunita Project, INF will develop a Palliative Care and Chronic Disease [PCCD] Centre of Excellence at GPH. Through clinical services, research and education/training, this project will support the National Strategy for Palliative Care, adopted by the Ministry of Health and Population [MoHP] in 2017.

It will also design, implement and test a rural healthcare intervention in palliative care in Lamjung, Jumla, Surkhet, Kapilvastu, and Banke.

We urgently seek a Palliative Care medical specialist to assist in providing a comprehensive palliative care service based at GPH, including clinical services [consultative, 14-bed inpatient care for adults and children, outpatient, day therapy and community services], working closely in a multidisciplinary team environment. They will support the extensive Sunita project teaching and mentoring programs [internal and external] and research activities.

There is also a need for other qualified Palliative Care personnel – for example, Specialist Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and other disciplines – to join the team and provide training and mentoring as this new technical area is developed in Nepal.

Sunita, a three-year, UK Aid matched project between EMMS International and INF Nepal, aims to pioneer providing integrated palliative care services through the development of a rural model of Palliative Care supported by the dedicated Palliative Care and Chronic Disease unit inside Green Pastures Hospital, with its education, research and outreach programmes, and collaboration with other like-minded organisations in Nepal.
