INF, supported by donors in Australia, has a long and successful track record working with communities in Nepal’s rugged Jumla district to overcome poverty and social exclusion.

As we approach the End of Financial Year, could you prayerfully consider making a tax-deductible donation to new work we are commencing in some of Jumla’s most remote and under-resourced communities?

From month to month, families in these communities don’t know whether they will have sufficient, safe and nutritious food or whether they will go hungry.

Jadeni’s story is an incredible example of the impact of INF’s inclusive, community-led approach in Jumla, made possible through donations from Australia.

Jadeni never went to school, but has been elected to represent her community thanks to her experience in an INF self-help group.

Jadeni grew up in a very poor family and never had the opportunity to go to school. In her community, women were also not allowed to talk at or participate in village meetings. But Jadeni has risen to become an elected local leader after joining an INF self-help group.

A women’s self-help group, meeting on the roof of a house.

The self-help group held monthly meetings to identify the causes of problems in their village and make action plans to address them. These included constructing a water supply, maintaining personal hygiene and developing a group savings fund.

Through the self-help group, Jadeni received leadership training and also gained the trust of her village. Emboldened, she ran in the local elections and won!

“I am now part of planning for the village, raising the voice of women,” she says. “I am an illiterate person, but with the help of INF I have managed to reach this pinnacle in my life.”

This End of this Financial Year, you can support the emergence of leaders like Jadeni in the new communities INF will commence work in in two ways:

1] Make a one-off, tax-deductible donation

2] Become a monthly INF supporter as part of our Journey with Jumla program

Our work takes patience and long-term commitment. We need new long-term supporters who will journey with us as we journey with these communities in Jumla over the next three years, to seek the fullness of life that we know God desires for them.

God longs deeply for the flourishing of these communities. Join us this End of Financial Year to be part of making this vision a reality.
